Current situation of hybrid graphics

Let me ask simple question - what is current support of hybrid graphics on Linux?

My friend has laptop with Intel and Nvidia GPU. He tried to configure Ubuntu with Bumblebee 2 years ago and this not work so good.

Now I see that Bumblebee is abadoned project. So how to use this? Maybe NVIDIA driver support this officialy?
