Can't get past the 50 Reputation Points to get started

Sorry, I probably will lose 'reputation' (what little I have) for this, but I have no choice. I found some valuable info on the U&L site. However, a piece is missing in the post I found. I wanted to ask about that, but the site says that it should not be a "Question", rather a "Comment". I clicked on "Add a comment", but for that you need to be a login member? But I like this site so much, I went against my usual rule about creating more accounts on the web, and I created one here. So, I then went to "Add a comment, but then it says to comment, you need '50 Reputation Points" (I only have "1" as a new user). After losing more time figuring out these Rep Points I was stuck. (Mind you, I like the idea of earning a reputation. But I saw no way to get past this.) Then I saw that a "To ask a question about the site, do that on the "Meta Site" (?).... Okay.... Went there, clicked on "Ask a Question" and I got "You must have at least 5 reputation on Unix & Linux Stack Exchange to ask a question on meta." WHAT!!?? Is this like "Need experience to get a job, but need a job to get experience"? I have well over 20 years in Unix and Linux experience. I have worked for Fortune 100 companies (I do now), I have worked for NASA. I presently manage, globally, a half dozen HPC (High Performance Computing) Linux clusters (Supercomputers). What do I have to do to at least get the 50 Rep points to be able to Ask a question or Comment??? UPDATE: Geez! I can't post this without a Tag, but to create a tag for /reputation or /help requires.... you guessed it, more Rep points?? Now I have to lie.
