I recently deleted ubuntu from a partition on my laptops hard drive so that I could mess around my partitions and create some more space because I enjoy using linux so much however I am left with the grub rescue screen. I can boot into windows by entering "Exit" on this screen and everything works fine from there. What I want to know is can I use a live CD to reinstall linux and repair Grub. I've tried googling but those with similar problems seem to have issues booting any OS at all and the solutions are a bit complicated/risky (in terms of keeping my files that I have on my windows partition).
