Google Chrome Stable Homepage Set ~ Cannot Reset

I think someone has pranked me by setting Google Chrome's home page to one of my bookmarks; Inoreader homepage. The entry reappears, apparently auto spawning even when deleted, under Settings --> Open a specific page or set of pages --> Set Pages.

I have tried reinstalling Chrome. I did not think anyone had physical access to the machine, but I cannot rule it out. I am running Freya Beta itself based on Ubuntu 14.04.
