can't launch applet as root: "could not grab your mouse"

I'm programming a cinnamon applet..It requires root access.. so I've managed to launch gksu when the user click on the applet.. but I get "could not grab your mouse" error

I've googled this problem and found that I can solve it by clicking on the desktop directly after I click on any applet asks for root access

It worked but it's not practical.. the user should be able to launch it directly

Any ideas??
