Access data in windows

I installed ubuntu by making partition in my pc.I want to access my data that is present in windows os in my laptop through ubuntu.how can this be done ? My windows os is showing constant error messages and is not starting.Since it contains data which is important i want to know how to access it through ubuntu.Please help.
