Resizing Xterm window kills Django running in it

I have a Django instance running in an Xterm. Any time I resize it, the Django process dies ungracefully, leaving no record of it in the error_log file.

I tested it within ratpoison, xmonad and mwm.

Is this expected? The XTerm version is 6.8.99.
