Installing Kali Alongside Windows 8.1 Error

I tried to install Kali but it would not boot, however Ubuntu booted successfully, it's just Kali that won't boot.

I make it to the menu where I select what I wish to do like "Live, Install etc" but after selecting one, there is just a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left. When I press Esc it opens a "Boot" textbox but I cannot figure out what the problem may be?

• Mobo: MSI Z97 GAMING 7 Motherboard


• CPU: Intel i7 4790k 4.0Ghz


• Graphics: Galaxy GTX 780 Ti Hall of Fame Edition Superclocked 1248 Mhz


• RAM: 16GB DDR3 2400Mhz

Addition Notes: - Am installing with a USB made with Rufus - Version is kali-linux-1.0.9a-amd64
